CHOIR

  • The Choir meets every Tuesday evening during school term time at 7:30pm and aims to finish by 9pm each week.

  • The choir is open to all - there are no auditions!  It is a great opportunity to meet new people and have some fun.

  • There is no charge to join or attend the choir as the costs are covered by the church through the gifts of church members.  However, if you would like to make a voluntary contribution there is opportunity each week.

  • If you are interested in joining the choir just come along!

The Thornton Community Choir was started by The King’s Church in the summer of 2010 as a service to the community; a place where people can make new friends and have fun singing together. Although the choir was started by the church, is run by church members and meets in the church building, it is not the ‘church choir’ i.e. it doesn't exist to sing in church services. Anyone can join the choir whether they have any or no connection with the church.  Anyone can join the choir regardless of singing ability – there are no auditions!

The choir is led by Dave and Ann who freely give of their time and expertise to find and arrange songs, rehearse and conduct sections of the choir and play instruments for the choir.  They try to cater for a wide range of different musical styles and abilities – not all songs may be your personal preference, but we hope that you will support them as they seek to broaden the repertoire and appeal of the choir.

Tuesday

19:30 - 21:00

Occasionally the choir performs publicly in a range of venues and settings.  Past examples include: fundraising for Aintree Hospital; singing at St George’s Hall in support of an ‘In Another Place’ production; singing at the church Christmas Eve ‘Carols by Candlelight’ service, and; carol singing in nursing homes. The Choir also performs an annual Summer Concert for family and friends.
